On August 7-8, 2010 the South Valley Chivas Bakersfield BU16 and BU14 teames were crowned champions and finalist respectively of the California Cup.

In the Boys U16 division the SVCA Bakersfield BU16 team won the championship by beat Dynasty SC 6-0, Cal Elite 7-0 and Irvine Premier 8-0. The championship game would be against Dynasty SC who the team had already beat in the first game of the tournament. The final score of the championship game was a convincing 4-1.

The SVCA BU14 would end up finalist of the tournament by tying against Newport Mesa SC 0-0, beating Freedom B95 1-0 and beating Real Madrid 1-0 in group play. The final against Xtreme Black would have to be decided in penalty were the score would end 3-4 in favor of the Xtreme team.

On Friday March 19, 2010 a total of 83 players, parents and friends had the priviledge of traveling to the Home Depot Center to watch a practice of our parent Major League Soccer team Chivas USA. After watching a two hour practice some of the Chivas USA players of the likes of Sasha Kljesten, Jonathan Bornstein, “El Gringo” Jesus Padilla, Jorge Flores and Zack Thorton interacted and gave our players autographs.

The Chivas USA academies administration later treated our group to a tour of the Home Depot Center and spoke to our players about the benefits and possibilities of being an affiliated academy.

Later that day we had the opportunity to visit and kick around at the Chivas USA and the City of Bell Garden soccer complex where all Chivas USA youth development teams train.
