Culture Of Soccer Website Writes Article On Amber And Alexis Hernandez

Apr 11th, 2008 by admin | 0

The Culture Of Soccer website, a blog which looks at the way soccer intersects with economics, politics, religion, history, ethnicity, race, immigration, identity, psychology, sexuality, and other aspects of culture has printed a story on SVCA members Amber and Alexis Hernandez.

The article focuses on the fact that both Amber and Alexis are children of a Mexican-born mother and second-generation Mexican-American father, and are among the latest in the growing number of American-born players returning to their ancestral homeland to play their soccer.

The site is maintained by David Keyes an UC San Diego anthropoly graduate student who found out about Amber and Alexis’ success in Mexico by way of ESPN’s Luis Bueno’s Side Line Views Blog which also makes reference to the brother and sister article.  Culture of Soccer currently contains articles on it’s home page of soccer star’s like David Beckham, Hugo Sanchez,  and Jesus “El Gringo” Padilla.
